We found “A Short History of Music as a Weapon” when digging out music-related audio pieces for In The Dark’s first ever matinee “Cinema of Sound” (later renamed “The Musical Mind”). Part of that ‘radio documentary set’ included features that explore music in relation with war. “A Short History of Music as a Weapon” is a meaningful short audio essay that unfolds the dark side of sound and transports you step by step to a “musical war zone”. For it’s relevance it immediately became a favorite.
