What does it mean to be DIY in sound?

Rough edges. Loose textures. Floating worlds that blur the lines between the sounds surrounding us and our everyday lives.

Join us for an evening of unexpected and spontaneous audio works curated by Tess Davidson followed by a live performance between Femi Oriogun Williams and Tess that will weave DIY pieces, music and real-time interactions from the audience into a unique soundscape composition.

If you have any DIY audio you want to share, send it to tess [dot] fionadavidson [at] gmail [dot] com by Monday 8th May. Anything goes – it can be music, field recordings, narrative documentary, weird sounds – be as playful as you like!

Tess Davidson is an audio producer, writer, and radio show host. She’s often found dancing somewhere and carries the energy of the sea with her wherever she goes.

Femi Oriogun Williams is a writer, musician, educator and radio producer born at 00:00 to a room full of people laughing under a Taurus moon.
