“I’ve been saving this one up. Earlier this year I was asked (as a Representative of Speechification, no less) to attend an evening of speech radio in London. A group of about fifty – including some genuine speech radio royalty – gathered in a bar in King’s Cross to listen to a radio programme (one of the stranger things I’ve done in a King’s Cross bar). The programme was a jewel of a thing from RTE’s Documentary on One slot called Mighty Mac. It was transmitted last year and won a 2009 Prix Europa….”
