The First Ever In The Dark in Sydney: A Tribute to Tony Barrell
ABC Radio National and 2SER 107.3 are proud to be supporting the very first In the Dark listening event in Sydney, Australia at GoodGod Small Club on Friday June 17th.
The first Sydney In the Dark will be a particularly special event which will pay tribute to radio documentary producer, film-maker and writer Tony Barrell who sadly passed away earlier this year. Tony had an incredible career covering a diverse range of stories from across the globe. Tony was recently described as, “wickedly funny, deeply serious and highly intelligent”. He leaves a remarkable and highly influential legacy which In the Dark is proud to share and celebrate on June 17.
Russell Stapleton is a sound engineer and good friend of Tony’s and together they worked on many award winning pieces. Russell will be selecting some of Tony’s best work to play on the night and will also describe what it was like working with such a creative mind.
